Team Description:
The Contracts team collaborates with our technical, finance, and business development teams to submit quality proposals for project funding opportunities and negotiates contracts with a wide variety of customers, subcontractors, and vendors. Kitware seeks a Contracts Administrator to assist with all aspects of the contracting lifecycle for government customers.
The administrator will be responsible for reviewing solicitations, assisting in the preparation of proposals, negotiating contract terms with the US Government and other government contractors, issuing and negotiating subcontracts, and providing post-award support. The
Contracts Administrator
will interact with corporate executives, project managers, team members, auditors, collaborators, government customers, government contractors, and vendors in various capacities. Kitware’s government customers include a wide variety of federal agencies, from the Department of Defense, the Department of Interior, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Energy.
In This Position You Will:
- Coordinate efforts in preparing proposals in response to solicitations
- Review and interpret the solicitation materials and ensure proposal is responsive, compliant, and complete
- Interface with subcontractors to obtain all necessary data for proposals, including pricing information
- Negotiate, finalize, and administer contracts with the US Government, prime contractors, and subcontractors
- Prepare and disseminate proper instructions to the internal organization on contract requirements
- Evaluate contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations
- Review, negotiate, and finalize all contract modifications
- Complete all post-award administrative reporting requirements
- Maintain close contact with customers and collaborators, fostering long-term business relationships
- Act as primary point of contact for external organizations and internal individuals for proposal and contract related activities
- Maintain documents and input data into Kitware’s contract management system
- Improve processes and advance team initiatives
- Perform such other assignments as may be required from time to time by management
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience working in the field of contracts, proposals and/or project management
- Strong understanding of contracting principles and legal terms and conditions
- Strong communication skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and an ability to learn Kitware’s internal contract management system
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Due to contractual restrictions, only US Citizens will be considered for this position
- If not already cleared TS/SCI, willingness and ability to apply for and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Google Docs
- Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations
- Experience working with a technical company, an academic institution, or in an R&D environment
$85,000 - $100,000 a year
