Job Description:
The Air Force Acquisition Execution Oversight Division (SAF/AQXE) requires support to lead and organize Execution and Program reviews throughout the fiscal year and synthesize inputs from all USAF PEOs and program offices. The Execution Oversight Branch conducts Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics) (SAF/AQ) support to the Service Acquisition Executive (SAE) by optimizing and managing Air Force investment resources and priorities through oversight of program execution with periodic execution reviews to protect the Air Force’s budget.
The Branch applies acquisition expertise to coach program staff in properly structuring, phasing, and baselining programs. The desired candidate will support the SAE in reviewing and tracking the cost, schedule, and performance of all major acquisition pathways and special interest programs.The primary job responsibilities for this position include:
- Lead and organize multiple Execution/Program Reviews throughout the fiscal year and synthesize inputs from all USAF PEOs and program offices at various locations and MAJCOMS.
- Support SAF/AQXE in the Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE) process.
- Identify trends and provide recommendations for what programs can take additional risk or reprogram funding to fund higher USAF priorities and/or Urgent Needs.
- Provide recommendations to the USAF SAE and SAF/AQX leadership on changes to acquisition programs and overall levels of investment funding.
- Serve as a “liaison” between the Programming and Budgeting function and the Execution function of the Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE) process.
- Use ingenuity, innovation, and critical thinking to effectively & efficiently plan, organize, manage, & direct all aspects of assigned acquisition portfolios.
- Compiles assessments into executive level products for government action.
- Executes other related duties, as determined, and assigned by AQX personnel.
- Attends/Participates in meetings, as required.
Experience Requirements:
Mandatory:
- 6 to 12 years of relevant experience in applying analytic techniques in evaluating project objectives and contributing to implementing strategic direction.
- Experience analyzing and applying acquisition policy in program strategy. Experience applying new legislation and policy to determine the impact on existing plans and recommend alternate strategies.
- PPBE experience

Relevant certifications and training, such as “Lean” and/or “Agile.” The ability to do the job is more important. PMP-ACP or equivalent
