Common App is currently searching for a Director of Procurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a key role within the Finance & Portfolio Support division, reporting directly to the VP of Finance & Portfolio Support, you will lead a dynamic Procurement team providing a comprehensive suite of procure-to-pay services. Your responsibilities encompass strategic leadership and direction for the Procurement team, coupled with active engagement in cross-functional collaboration. This includes overseeing all procurement activities such as efficient sourcing and purchasing of goods and services, as well as collaborating with the Legal team on contracts in close alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the procurement process and providing crucial support to organizational leadership.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
This role requires:
- Candidates must live in the United States.
- 8-10 years of experience in a leadership role within a Procurement department or related field.
- 6-8 years of experience as a people manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain, Business, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and regulations.
- Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor evaluation skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Visionary Leadership: Develop a compelling vision for the organization and communicate it effectively.
- Strategic Thinking: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive organizational growth.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks that could impact the organization's success.
- Financial Acumen: Understand and manage budgets and financial performance.
- Adaptability: Ensures effective performance when faced with ambiguity, changing environments, and demands.
- Detail Oriented: Ability to apply strict attention to minutiae and able to “sweat” the details.
- Relationship Management: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Professional certification(s) such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
- A passion for higher education.
PAY RANGE
Target hiring salary range $135,000-140,000
