What we’re looking for:
Nexamp is growing its origination team and isseeking to hire an Energy Sales Manager. In this role, you will identify and cultivate relationships with municipalities and commercial entities in existing and new Nexamp markets, to enroll them in Nexamp’s community solar farmsor similar project types. You will be responsible for all stages of the business development process, including developing go-to-market strategies, performing outreach, delivering client presentations, and negotiating and closing contracts.
Ideal candidates for this role will have experience within sustainability and in conducting business development and successful client relationswithcommercial and municipal accounts. We are accepting candidates across our offices in Boston, Chicago, Washington, DC, and New York. We are also open to remote individuals. You will report to the Vice President of Energy Sales.
What you’ll do:
- Originate and execute agreements in new and existing Nexamp markets.
- Identify and develop strong relationships with high-value contacts at target organizations.
- Put together and present in-depth proposals and negotiate complex offtake agreements.
What you’ll bring:
- 3+ years of experience within the field of sustainability, with a preference for candidates who have worked in solar energy.
- 2+ years of experience in business development, with a preference for candidates who have worked with corporate or municipal accounts.
- Understanding of the key drivers behind corporate engagement within sustainability.
- Commitment to Nexamp's mission and a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust, and loyalty across the industry.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
