Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time Program Engineer opportunity available based in Charleston, SC.Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.Cambridge has a contingent requirement for a Lead Engineer to join our Team in support of a Critical Infrastructure Program. The Lead Engineer candidate will be assigned to multiple Mission-Critical Facility Design and Construction projects for a Navy Customer as the Lead Project Engineer across the Program.
Responsibilities include:
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
- Serves as an engineering consultant and technical expert on mission-critical infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
- Applies professional knowledge of scientific and engineering concepts. Principals to: assess specific requirements, delineate appropriately engineered designs, and develop preliminary and final design plans, engineering specifications, cost estimates and procurement packages.
- Specifies functional requirements, designs and tests components, analyzes designs, and integrates components.
- Evaluates overall design effectiveness, cost, reliability.
- Designs, analyzes, configures, tests and troubleshoots systems, as well as providing project engineering/program management support, development and evaluation support and/or engineering/life cycle support of a complex nature in a narrow area of specification.
- Conducts surveys and investigations at project sites to secure necessary data prior to initiating design work.
Required QUALIFICATIONS
- Site surveys of proposed locations, working with base personnel and utilities on building interfaces, analysis of the geotechnical and topographical reports.
- Coordinating overall systems design between Networking/IT, Audio/Visual (A/V), Electronic Security Systems (ESS), Electrical and Cybersecurity disciplines.
- Leading A&E Review and Engineering Coordination efforts between Cambridge and Subcontractors; tracking RFIs, Action Items, and vendor communication.
- Requirements traceability throughout multiple design disciplines including Networking/IT, A/V, and Electronic Security.
- Assisting in the design efforts of the IT and ESS disciplines.
- Sanitization and distribution of cleared drawings and documents to the General Contractor for construction efforts.
- Determining power and heat specifications for all integrated systems.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering / relevant technical discipline.
- 8-10 years of experience in Design, Development, Production, Installation, and Test & Evaluation of Integrated Systems (One or more of the following: Information Technology, Electrical, Electronic Security Systems, and Audio Video Systems).
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role is required.
- Must have the ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
- Familiarity with SPAWAR Shore Installation Process Handbook preferred.
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
