Senior Business Analyst
Location: Springfield, IL
Remote/Hybrid 2-3 days a week working on-site.
Job Description:We seek a seasoned Business Analyst with at least five years of experience capturing business requirements, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria, and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The ideal candidate should also have 5 to 7 years of experience writing and executing test cases. Additionally, proficiency in using and understanding SharePoint functionality is required for this role.Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze business requirements from various sources, including stakeholders, subject matter experts, and documentation.
- Translate business requirements into clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for developers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business stakeholders, to ensure project requirements and priorities are aligned.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit requirements, gather feedback, and resolve conflicts or discrepancies.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including test planning, test case creation, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
- Work closely with business users during UAT to ensure system enhancements meet their needs and expectations.
- Document test results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and scripts to ensure thorough test coverage and compliance with business requirements.
- Provide ongoing support and training to end users on SharePoint functionality and best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest SharePoint features and functionality, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement or optimization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in capturing business requirements and translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in writing and executing test cases.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and tools.
- Proficiency in using and understanding SharePoint functionality, including document management, collaboration, and workflow automation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Business Analysis or Quality Assurance (optional but preferred).
