Description:
SURFMEPP’s Structural Engineering Technicians assist with engineering efforts to develop and maintain Class Standard Work Templates for tanks, voids, and ship structures. Structural Engineering Technicians also:
- Assist with developing various SURFMEPP corrosion control processes and products
- Ensure SURFMEPP process and practices align with higher-level government guidance
- Research and provide recommendations to improve surface ship Class Maintenance Plans and other SURFMEPP products

Requirements:
Applicants must have the following minimum skills and knowledge:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Physical ability to perform shipboard inspections to include climbing ladders and entering voids, tanks and other confined spaces.
- 1 to 4 years of relevant professional experience
- DOD SECRET Security Clearance
- Moderate surface ship knowledge.
- Database Management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Use of Navy Databases
- Appropriate written and verbal communication skills to interact with U.S. Navy personnel
- Perform research and data analysis to identify trends and relevant issues
- Performing data validation and quality checks to show adherence to requirements.
