Seeking a

Modeling and Simulation Engineer Expert


with a comprehensive mastery of modeling and simulation techniques and an exceptional track record of practical application in complex environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to tailor modeling and simulation approaches to meet unique client needs, define risks and benefits for informed decision-making, and effectively coordinate with both internal teams and external customers. Please note this position is contingent upon award.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Utilize vast knowledge of multiple modeling and simulation techniques to identify and implement approaches that best fit unique client requirements. 
  • Clearly communicate potential risks and benefits of chosen simulation approaches to support team and client decision-making processes. 
  • Coordinate closely with both internal teams and external customers to identify precise model requirements, simulation goals, and necessary variables. 
  • Develop and execute complex multi-network models that integrate multiple systems and scenarios, ensuring comprehensive coverage of client needs. 
  • Lead the oversight of complex, multi-event modeling and simulation exercises, ensuring accurate execution and documentation of results. 
  • Analyze simulation outcomes and present clear, actionable findings to end users, facilitating understanding and application of results. 
  • Continuously refine and develop models based on test results and feedback, enhancing accuracy and effectiveness. 

Minimum Requirements:


  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field. 
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in modeling and simulation engineering, with a strong preference for candidates who have demonstrated expertise in creating and managing complex multi-network models. 
  • Proven ability to assess client needs and tailor modeling and simulation techniques accordingly. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the capacity to clearly define risks and benefits to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Experienced in coordinating with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to identify modeling requirements and objectives. 
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing complex modeling and simulation events, with a strong track record of documenting and analyzing results. 
  • Ability to refine and develop models based on testing outcomes and feedback. 
  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. 
  • Detailed understanding of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Project) and their features/functions. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills. 
  • Deep experience with creating executive-level documentation and reports. 
  • Detailed understanding IT System Development Life Cycle, Agile, or SAFe concepts. 
  • Ability to interface well with end-users and senior client stakeholders. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative virtual environment. 
  • Detail-oriented consulting approach, with client service focus. 
  • Self-starter able to work independently and within a team. 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Professional certifications or training specific to modeling and simulation technologies or methodologies. 
  • Publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals or presentations at significant conferences. 
  • Advanced proficiency with simulation software and programming languages relevant to modeling and simulation. 
  • Demonstrated history of innovation in modeling and simulation, including the development of proprietary methods or technologies. 
  • Experience with systems such as NASA Task Load Index (TLX), System Usability Scale (SUS), Post-Study Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ), Health Information Technology Usability Evaluation Scale (ITUEs), CPRS/VISTA, Oracle Millennium, TermMed, Symedical, VA SNOMED Extension (VSE), Health Level 7 (HL7), and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).  
  • Experience in healthcare. 
  • VA or VHA experience

$148,000 - $165,000 a yearThis range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands. In addition to salary, Trilogy offers robust benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance coverage, 401(k) match, paid holidays, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and a very supportive work/life balance.
