Position Overview:


Create, test, and publish software packages intended for multiple distribution channels including manual installs from network shares or offline media and enterprise deployment tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM). The product or results will be the creation, testing, and publication of software packages to network file shares and enterprise deployment tools. The candidate(s) will resolve technical problems related to software packages, and software distribution.

Duties include:


  • Serve as customer interface between InSequence PackageForge® service and delivery of automated application deliveries. Manage coordination of packagers and software deliverables.
  • Creation, testing and publishing of software packages.
  • Resolve software deployment and other problems related to software installation and use.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation and deployment issues affecting the workstation environment.
  • Work with technicians to help resolve software installation problems
  • Create technical end-user documentation on problem resolution.
  • Provide status reports to the lead worker or supervisor as requested
  • Deliver project documents as needed (e.g. status reports, technical documentation, etc.)
  • Other duties related to desktop management including but not limited to software packaging & deployment. 

Preferred:


  • Familiarity with concepts and technologies for application software packaging and distribution
  • Familiarity with using deployment tools such as Flexera AdminStudio, Wise Package Studio, or other enterprise software packaging tool.
  • Knowledge with concepts of MECM or Systems Management Server (SMS) for Deployment of software packages.
  • Proficiency in testing software packages, documenting test results, and resolving testing issues.
  • Comprehensive technical problem resolution skills
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Effective documentation skills in order to write technical and end-user documentation
  • Customer service skills and the ability to provide a flexible and friendly approach to customers/colleagues
  • Experience in software packaging and deployment using Flexera AdminStudio, Wise Package Studio, or other enterprise software packaging tool.
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft MECM or SMS for deployment of software packages.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and Task Sequencing.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit (MAP).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK).
  • Knowledge and experience in creating scripts for common Windows Management functions. (PowerShell knowledge preferred)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory & Group Policy Management
  • Proficient in Windows Platform knowledge particularly of the Windows desktop operating system
  • Proficient and experience/knowledge of the Windows Registry.
  • Demonstrated Windows troubleshooting skills
  • Network administration knowledge
  • Basic Knowledge of Transact SQL for the purpose of creating database queries.

  • Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
