Our Senior Manager of Sales Development will play an integral role in driving the vision for Axios HQ as an AI-powered essential communications tool.

In this role, you will make an impact to Axios HQ through the following responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations for business development associates and managers, including hiring, training, coaching and development, and performance management.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing leadership to create and drive new business through various outreach campaigns. 
  • Building scripting playbooks, outreach strategies, and KPIs to drive success across the associate ranks.
  • Spot challenges and inefficiencies in the performance of BDAs and quickly address them with optimizations or new ideas that will lead to continued success in hitting our revenue growth targets. 

The details:

Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios HQ’s mission and values —
raise the bar, stay curious, be inclusive, always, and champion each other — and have the following skills/experience:

  • 5+ years of experience with a minimum of 2 years managing a team of Sales/Business Development professionals within the Software as a Service (SaaS) or AI industry, ideally in a startup environment 
  • Cross-functional collaboration, especially with sales, account management, and marketing teams
  • Someone who loves to utilize a multi-channel approach to sales and business development and understands the formula for driving top-of-funnel activity to drive revenue goals and milestones
  • Strong understanding of customer segments and journey through the conversion funnel
  • Exceptional performance tracking, able to prove what is – or isn’t – working
  • Data-driven; someone who understands the meaning of conversion rates and likes to use data to diagnose and solve problems and make decisions
  • Strong track record of building processes, infrastructure, and performance playbooks from the ground up 
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence with a proven track record of coaching and developing high-potential early-career commercial talent 

  • A deep belief in and commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive team environment 

Don’t forget: 


  • Axios HQ believes in fair and equitable pay. Annual on-target compensation for this role is in the range of $160,000-$170,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills.
  • This is a Hybrid role out of our Arlington, VA office, requiring 1-3 days in office per week.
