is seeking a Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support our work with multiple federal clients. This is a Hybrid role supporting our government clients across the Washington, DC area and is open to U.S. Citizens only. Successful candidates are required to have an Active Secret Security Clearance. In this role you will:
- Develop and provide operational support for full-stack software applications.
- Manage, participate in, or directly work on any additional projects, assignments, or initiatives assigned by management.
- Be an active partner with peer engineering teams, engaging during incidents using an escort model to ensure compliance with FedRAMP data handling requirements.
- Collaborate with cloud engineers in understanding new cloud technologies, assessing impact to security services operations, and proposing solutions to existing business problems.
- Take code and functionality of the cloud products and make them function in private cloud environments.
- Respond to support escalations which involve troubleshooting complex technical problems and resolving data/configuration issues within defined service level objectives.
- Develop software, tools, and scripts to automate deployment, management, and monitoring of production systems in all environments.
- Collaborate in the software development lifecycle to develop detailed enhancement/bug definitions, write functional requirements, translate the requirements into solution designs, and navigate the functional requirements through to Production deployments.
- Proactively look for ways to create efficiencies within operations.
- Create/maintain documentation for operational procedures.
- Document and perform system upgrades, application updates, and define monitoring requirements based on customer needs.
- Remediate infrastructure and container security vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with development operations staff to create, monitor, and troubleshoot the system infrastructure.
- Manage cloud and database system maintenance, debugging production issues as they arise.
- Collect operating system data and report performance metrics to stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must have:
- 5+ years of related SRE experience
- 5+ years’ experience in bash scripting in addition to experience in higher-level scripting languages like (e.g. JavaScript, Java, Python, PowerShell)
- 3+ years’ experience using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Pulumi, Ansible, Chef, AWS Cloud Formation, or equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience with platform development in compliance with FedRamp requirements and related government standards, policies, and regulations
- Knowledge of Windows Azure and Cloud Computing
- Expertise on the Microsoft technology stack (C#, ASP.NET, MVC, SQL)
- Experience with Docker or a similar container solution and experience with orchestration tooling such as Kubernetes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to be a good listener, and to understand customer issues. Ability to work independently on issues assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering
Salary:
$135,000 – $165,000, Depending on Experience
