Are you ready to be at the forefront of the clean energy revolution? MetOx International, Inc. is seeking a Production Technician to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in reshaping the future of power generation and distribution.
Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Production Technician role at MetOx will operate specialized equipment that manufactures, processes, and packages high value quality product. Working in the clean HVAC controlled high tech manufacturing environment, the Production Technician will use sophisticated control systems that are part of the equipment to dial in the recipe, monitor, and operate several pieces of automated equipment. The Production Technician will develop skills and knowledge about how that equipment performs that will make them a key resource in minimizing any equipment disruption and a “go to” source of insight for engineers who are designing next generation equipment.This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 4:00am – 4:00pm or 4:00pm – 4:00am. Overtime may be required.
This position has a tentative start date of mid-May 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspecting facility & equipment
- Maintain areas in a clean condition including picking up/taking out trash, minor facility repairs, etc.
- Work flexible hours and schedule to achieve manufacturing objectives.
- Receiving of goods (including gas cylinder and dewar deliveries)
- Implement safe work practices and participate in proactive safety culture to ensure safety for the employee, public and environment.
- Adhere to company policies inclusive of the attendance policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- AAS or minimum of three years working in an mechanical support role is required.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
- Able to climb stairs and work on platforms that are about 10’ high.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AAS degree in process operations/technology is a plus.
- Working within a safety program, potentially including handling hazardous waste.
- Process control experience.
- Manufacturing work such as operating equipment, lean manufacturing, and collecting and analyzing field samples.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting pumps, compressors, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
- Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with less definition, policy, and bureaucracy.
- Takes initiative and is proactive. Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.
- Ability to use problem solving skills to diagnose and adjust company machinery to ensure maximum performance.
- Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position.
- Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift loads up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.
- Will be required to serve on the Emergency Response Team. ERT requirements Include:
- Clean shaven to achieve positive respirator seal.
- HAZWOPER certification (MetOx to provide training)
- First aid & CPR certification (MetOx to provide training)
