About the Role:
The Platform Engineering business unit, which includes Observability services, is part of Cloud Solutions Group. Observability Architects work closely with Trace3 sales teams to understand our customers’ business goals and provide them with technology solutions that help them realize those goals. Responsibilities will include both pre-sale technology design, professional service estimation, as well as post-sale implementation services. Observability Architects also partner closely with delivery-focused members of the team to ensure the success of a sold solution and delivery of the expected outcome.The Observability Architect will serve as consultative technology leader and solution-focused subject matter expert to create strong client intimacy with their technical expertise.
In this post-sales delivery role, the individual will be viewed as a lead responsible for solution delivery involving complex client opportunities.The Observability Architect will also provide education, guidance, and thought leadership on emerging technologies to clients and will be responsible for a broad set of domain knowledge across many vendors. This individual will have a strong understanding of how technology enables businesses to develop strategies and meet objectives. The individual will focus on consulting and delivery activities to drive meaningful outcomes by conducting presentations and demos, writing proposals, assessing environments and applications, architecting and deploying solutions, and documenting deliverables. The Observability Architect will also focus on building deep relationships, gaining trust, and enabling client success.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead client engagements as the subject matter expert to solve customer problems and translate customer requirements into deliverable services
- Create high-level and low-level designs or blueprints relevant to domain of expertise.
- Provide consulting expertise on Observability strategy including operational models, roadmaps, and return on investment for customers
- Own successful implementation of solutions by ensuring success transition of designed solutions to the delivery team and remain engaged with the client while becoming a “thought leader” for the next opportunity
- Ensure that a quality solution is delivered in a timely manner, within budget, and to our client's satisfaction
- Communicate Trace3’s value proposition to varying technical and non-technical clients, including executive ''C'' level management, VP, and Director levels, and end-users
- Establish strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in client organizations
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Management teams to develop sales playbooks
- Contribute to the development of internal observability best practices as well as new innovative observability consulting services offerings that we can take to market
- Contribute to Trace3’s presence and brand in the observability partner community
Qualifications & Interests:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required
- Minimum of 8-10 years of Infrastructure (ITIM) or Application Performance Monitoring (APM) experience
- Experience working for a technology consulting company
- Demonstrated ability to architect, build, secure, and run Observability related projects
- Experience working with IT Infrastructure Monitoring (ITIM) solutions including LogicMonitor, ScienceLogic, OpsRamp and SolarWinds is a plus
- Experience working with other APM solutions including Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics and New Relic is a plus
- Experience working with Event Management solutions including Big Panda and ServiceNow is a plus
- Experience working with Log Analytics solutions including Splunk and Elastic is a plus
- Experience working with ServiceNow related to ITOM and observability integrations such as Incident and CMDB is a plus
- Experience working with Automation solutions such as Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet, related to observability is a plus
- Experience working with dashboard visualization solutions including Grafana, PowerBI and Tableau is a plus
- Strong expertise in designing technology solutions for companies ≥ $1B revenue, and presenting to C-level leadership
- Knowledge and familiarity with adjacent technology areas including Cloud, Network and Security
- Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable, educational and useful
- Must have a firm grasp on the industry and anticipate trends and movements while balancing maturity and timing
- Motivated self-starter who loves to solve challenging problems and feels comfortable working directly with customers
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment
- Comfortable managing multiple and changing priorities, and meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.Estimated Pay Range$143,800—$215,800 USD
