 Job Position Overview


MetOx Technologies, Inc. (“MetOx”) is seeking a full-time experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead and implement the commercial scale wire manufacturing equipment and systems at MetOx.


Your role at MetOx


MetOx is a Houston-based, high-tech company that manufactures high-temperature superconducting (2G HTS) wire, a product and process that will empower the future of electricity.MetOx is seeking talented scientists and engineers to join its world class team for the launch of large-scale, reliable commercial production of high temperature superconducting wire.In this role, you will be responsible for the deployment of the metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) that will help us to actualize our vision.

You will collaborate with other team members working on multiple projects building on your strengths in engineering design, development and communication.

Responsibilities: In this role you will:


  • Lead the development and qualification of MOCVD processes
  • Develop measurement methods and sub-processes needed to manufacture HTS layers with high quality
  • Develop and maintain production-related documentation, ensuring said documents are accurate, up to date, and reflect current GMP (cGMP)
  • Lead manufacturing improvement events driving Lean initiatives to improve processes utilizing various toolbox items. (6S, VSM, Kaizen, Visual Mgmt, Poka-yoke, 3P, ...)
  • Developing and maintain systems to drive continuous improvement in areas of cost, quality, safety, lead time, and use of working capital

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will

  • Hold a Masters or Ph D in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline with 5-10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Have prior experience in one or more of the tool box items (6S, VSM, Kaizen, Visual Mgmt, Poka-yoke, 3P, ...)
  • Have prior experience in epitaxy,  CVD, or PVD of thin films or coatings
  • Is a strategic problem solver and valued collaborator who can design and execute on a vision while working multiple problems. Is a great communicator who is able to distill complex problems into concise statements; you are comfortable working with and balancing competing priorities of multiple projects and teams operating in different regions and cultures.
  • Is a critical thinker who thrives on finding solutions to tricky problems. An analytical mind at heart, you have a knack for handling multiple complex tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Ambitious, flexible, a self-starter, self-motivated, and hard-working human being, you actively recognize needs, resolve problems, anticipate issues, and develop solutions
  • You build and cultivate healthy relationships with business partners and keep stakeholders informed and engaged. You customize your communication style based on your audience, and easily switch between verbal and written communication as needed.
