The Welding Inspectors are under the general supervision of the Senior Welding Inspector (CWI). It is the responsibility of the Welding Inspector to be knowledgeable of the specifications covering the project under construction. This includes any references to codes, standards, etc.Primary Functions: 

  • Performs duties designated by the Senior Welding Inspector in accordance with the job requirements outlined in the assigned activity and the Client Company specifications and codes. 
  • Advises Senior Welding Inspector of all decisions, problems, and possible alternatives in the assigned activity. 
  • Adheres to and enforces EnSiteUSA and Client Company safety policies. 
  • Becomes thoroughly familiar with the Client Company's contract specifications and enforces them. 
  • Notifies the Senior Welding Inspector on environmental problems. 
  • Keeps daily log of incidents relating to the construction in the assigned activity. 
  • Prepares the appropriate report(s) for the assigned activity and forwards to the Senior Welding Inspector for review. 
  • Enforces Client Company welding procedures, qualifications, and specifications. 
  • Inspects welding technique and equipment. 
  • Inspects all welds visually. 
  • Reviews radiographic film report daily when required. 
  • Ensures that all rejected welds are repaired and replaced in accordance with Client's specifications. 

Qualifications: 

  • Has at minimum, a five-year working knowledge of all pipeline welding codes and specifications and is versed in Client Company contract specifications. 
  • Has previous quality assurance/control experience on construction projects including transmission pipelines, stations, and plants. 
  • Has proven human relations and administrative skills. 

The Senior Welding Inspector (CWI) reports directly to the Chief Inspector. It is the responsibility of the Senior Welding Inspector (CWI) to be knowledgeable about the specifications covering the project under construction. This includes any references to codes, standards, etc., in other publications, e.g., API, ASTM, etc. Primary Functions: 

  • Advises Chief Inspector of all decisions, problems, and possible alternatives. 
  • Adheres to and enforces EnSiteUSA and Client Company safety policies. 
  • Notifies the Chief Inspector of environmental problems which may arise. 
  • Keeps daily log of incidents relating to the construction in the assigned activity. 
  • Gathers and reviews the appropriate reports for the Inspector's assigned activities and forwards to the Chief Inspector for review. 
  • Enforces Client Company's welding procedures, qualifications, and specifications. 
  • Ensures that all Client Company's welding procedures and specifications are followed. 
  • Reviews daily with the Senior NDT all radiographic film results and reviews weld track system. 
  • Assures that all welding inspectors are qualified. 
  • Ensures that all rejected welds are repaired or replaced in accordance with Client's specifications.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in the pipeline and construction industry. 
  • Has working knowledge of all pipeline welding codes and specifications and is versed in Client Company contract specifications. 
  • Minimum ten (10) years proven previous supervisory quality assurance/control experience on construction projects including transmission pipelines, station, and plants. 
  • Has proven human relations and administrative skills. 
  • Has proven background and knowledge as a qualified radiographic film interpreter and has proven capabilities of supervising all NDE examinations, personnel, documentation and the final results. 
  • Trainable as, has held and/or is certified as a CWI (American Welding Society) or a CPWI (National Welding Inspection School).
