WE ARE SEEKING students for internship that are pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry. Candidates should have a good working knowledge and vocabulary of organic chemistry with experience in chemical analysis. Interest in fluid dynamics and thermodynamics is a plus. You will be working in small teams with other highly skilled engineers and scientists to create new technology for our clients. You should have a proven track record of being able to pick up new tasks and tools and be multi-faceted in your skillset and interests.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assist the chemical technology team with chemical analysis, instrument operation, materials preparation, and fluid testing
  • Assist scientists and engineers with hands on learning from experienced personnel to apply chemistry and chemical engineering to solve internal and external projects.
  • Be willing to learn and be a functioning member in an active chemistry laboratory
  • Adherence to laboratory safety process
  • Materials preparation and chemical reactions possible for some candidates
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues with existing designs
  • Participate in design reviews and use scientific and engineering principles to advance new technology
  • Be eager to assist with lab maintenance and cleanup to support scientists

Requirements


This position requires enrollment in university courses for a Chemical Engineering or Chemistry BS or MS, or other relevant degree plan. Experience in the following areas is also preferred:

  • 3rd year university level
  • Chemical synthesis and/or polymer preparation
  • Fluid modeling with software and model flow systems
  • General knowledge of common lab equipment, pH meter, IR and UV/Vis spectrophotometer, etc
  • Demonstrated ability for independent thought in a research project setting
  • Matlab analysis of large data sets, basic function programming
  • Excellent mathematics skills
