Management Controls is an exciting and rapidly growing organization dedicated to staffing its Consulting Services Team with seasoned, motivated, and effective Project Managers. This role requires a creative and resourceful individual with comprehensive experience in project management methodologies and standards. This important resource works with clients on a strategic and functional level to ensure the timely and effective implementation of MCi’s contractor management solution. Additionally, the Project Manager identifies and oversees key activities by MCi resources. The business is privately held, has been around for 30 years, services most of the Fortune 100, and is experiencing exponential growth, which will last into the next decade.

This position is open to candidates located outside of the Houston, Texas area that reside within the continental US.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of project management for assigned implementation projects, through the entire project lifecycle
- Plans, budgets, oversees and documents all aspects of assigned projects, adhering to MCi’s project management standards and methodologies
- Works closely with cross-functional teams, as well as senior management, to ensure that the scope and execution of each project is on track
- Exhibits thought leadership to expand a client’s contractor management strategy and business processes
- Ensures that implementations follow established methodologies in order to provide a consistent customer experience and end product
- Prepares weekly reports for clients and senior leadership regarding project status
- Identifies and works to resolve issues that put an on-time and on-budget delivery at risk
- Prepares Statements of Work and Change Orders
- Becomes a Track champion and drives understanding and knowledge, both internally and externally
Requirements
Qualifications and competencies:

- Problem Solving: Anticipates obstacles and proposes constructive solutions; troubleshoots client-specific issues with Track functionality; utilizes MCi resources to resolve problems and challenges
- Motivation: Desires to go “above and beyond” for MCi clients; able to motivate cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to achieve a shared goal; exhibits a positive, can-do attitude
- Adherence to Standards and Directives: Follows MCi’s implementation methodology; utilizes documented standards and utilizes defined processes; follows supervisor instructions
- Communication Skills: Communicates effectively in writing, in person, and by phone or web meeting; exhibits professionalism in client interactions; represents MCi effectively
- Five or more years of software project management or consulting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field
- Proficiency with software project methodologies (stage/gate process)
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Able to travel up to 35% (when normal travel resumes)
- A PMP Certification is a plus but not required
- Track Platform experience is a plus but not required
