The Chief Inspector reports directly to the Construction Manager. The Chief Inspector's duties and responsibilities require that they will be both knowledgeable and experienced in all phases of pipeline construction and inspection.Primary Functions:
- Supervises all phases of the field quality assurance/control and technical staff assigned to the project to ensure adherence to the Client Company's construction contract drawings and specifications.
- Acts as a Client Company Field Representative to ensure compliance with all provisions of various governmental regulatory permits, including personal contact with designated officials. Insures adherence to right-of-way easement provisions pertaining to the construction process.
- Coordinates construction contract activities with associated Client Company operating division.
- Anticipates and recognizes unusual project situations involving progress, quality or monetary responsibility and advises or makes recommendations for resolving them.
- See that all required documents are completed and transmitted in accordance with the Client Company's procedures.
- Ensures applicable measures are employed during construction to minimize adverse environmental or safety impacts and complies with all environmental or safety commitments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience in the pipeline and construction industry.
- Minimum of five years experience in all phases of pipeline construction quality assurance/control.
- Has supervisory quality assurance/control experience in the construction of pipelines and related facilities and is versed in Client Company maintenance and operating policies or procedures.
- Has proven judgment and decision-making skills.
- Is familiar with and has proven ability to understand and fulfill design requirements related to regulatory codes that govern construction of transmission pipelines and related facilities.
- Has understanding of preventative or counter measures available to minimize the environmental impacts of construction activities.
