W-Industries is an energy service company that specializes in Automation Solutions, I&E Construction Services, Power Generation and Packaged Equipment for the Energy and Industrial markets. This position is primarily responsible for welding various metal (carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, alloy metals and aluminum).
Need to have a certification in tig, mig, and stick welding. This job is located full time in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Perdiem is $50/day. Requirements
- Includes welding pipes, structural and being able to stick, mig and tig.
- Responsible for gathering all leads, gases, rod and equipment to perform any welding.
- Ability to use oxygen/acetylene cutting torch.
- Selects torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal.
- Connects regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, and welding torch.
- Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure, to obtain desired flame.
- Holds torch at proper angle to metal and guides along weld joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld.
- Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
- Preheats workpiece in furnace or with torch.
- Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines.
- Responsible for grinding and preparing metal surfaces before welding.
- Responsible for cleaning metals surfaces after welding is complete.
- Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.

- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately
- Ability to demonstrate the proper use of common welding and cutting processes.
- Ability to optimize welding productivity and performance.
- Knowledge of welder and welding safety standards.
- Knowledge of welding inspection.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong speaking, writing, and listening skills.
Shift
- Working 4-10's
- $50/day Perdiem
Education and Experience
- 5+ years of proven experience in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding.
- Need to have a certification in tig, mig, and stick welding.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist
- Ability to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
- Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes.
