Management Controls, Inc. (MCi) seeks a high-impact and versatile Product Owner to join our Product Management team. The ideal candidate will deliver MCI’s product roadmaps by coordinating with product management, design, and development teams and communicating with our customers and internal stakeholders. This role requires quickly becoming proficient with our product platform and customer business areas. The capability to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines and in a fast-paced office environment is a must.

This position is open to candidates located outside of the Houston, Texas area that reside within the continental US.


Duties and responsibilities


  • Translate product roadmap features into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive innovation by translating AI concepts into actionable product features that meet user needs. Collaborate closely with AI engineers to optimize models and algorithms, ensuring the product remains cutting-edge in its AI capabilities.
  • Plan product releases with the Product Manager and set expectations for delivery of new features.
  • Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project by communicating the voice of the customer.
  • Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders, including analytics, design, quality assurance, sales, and customer success teams, to develop and deliver accretive value features and products. 
  • Provide acceptance of completed user stories after delivery teams have completed internal QA testing.
  • Support Internal MCi Teams as a subject matter expert during training content creation to benefit internal and external users. 
  • Prepare comprehensive release notes detailing new features, enhancements, and bug fixes implemented in each product release.
  • Collaborate with development teams to gather relevant information and ensure accuracy of release notes.
  • Utilize our ticketing system to track and manage release-related tasks, ensuring timely completion and seamless coordination across teams.

RequirementsQualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with machine learning capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering commercially successful software products to global market segments.
  • Experience with ChatGPT and OCR is a significant plus. 
  • 3+ years experience in a Product Owner role.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communications skills – Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Effective, polished interaction in virtual delivery in 1:1 engagements or presentations.
  • Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems and develop solutions.
  • Outstanding partnering capabilities and ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on deadlines.
  • Ability to work with remote teams.
