Your mission:
We’re looking for a Global Head of Vendors & Procurement. This role is a unique opportunity to help deliver Wise’s mission, continue the growth and evolution of the third party management team in a fast-paced listed company environment and help millions more people save money.
Job Description
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency services. The team responsible for vendors at Wise is spread across three themes: Third Party Risk Management, Vendor Management (oversight of outsourcing, technology, banking), and Procurement. The team is responsible for 3 things:
Risk: helping Wise to onboard and manage its third-party relationship, and for the governance surrounding TPM process and adherence to regulations globally. These range from banking partners, to cloud computing providers and verification agents.
Vendor Management: overseeing the vendors responsible for outsourcing or other services and ensuring they meet our contractual obligations, SLAs, quality metrics
Procurement: helping negotiate contracts, rate cards and aligning how we use third parties across all of WiseThird parties are critical to our success. They help us on our Mission and service our customers, but they also pose potential risks if not properly managed. Your mission is to lead these three functions within the Wise group to help take the function, and the business, to the next level. This includes working with stakeholders across various specialties, and globally to consolidate how we deal with, negotiate, manage the risks, and use third parties across Wise.
About the role:
Risk:
Ongoing management and review of the Third Party Management governance into the business for teams to effectively onboard, manage and offboard their third parties across the third party lifecycle.
Provide updates to the Audit & Risk Committee and the leadership team on the status of the third party risk management framework and Wise’s third party risk
Assist subject matter experts from Legal, Privacy, Security and Compliance, taking initiative to upskill and support those teams.
Assist teams with regulatory audits that focus on how Wise manages its third party relationships.
Vendor Management
Ensure that teams are periodically reviewing their existing third party relationships and are monitoring SLAs.
Support the team who are overseeing outsourcing and other vendors who support Wise through headcount services - and monitor contracts via SLAs, cost per case, quality, escalation rates
Procurement
Negotiate contracts, service credits, and ensure every 3rd party is providing the benefit needed for Wise
Work through existing contracts and identify where we can consolidate, renegotiate, or initiate new requests for proposals
Run RFPs for different parts of the business
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Choose your path to impact - we believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously. So rather than being told what to do, you’ll take ownership from day one. Of course, you will have feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll experience unique levels of ownership and empowerment within your role.
- Shape a new team - As the global leader of the 3 teams you will be instrumental in shaping its direction and helping it grow.
- Be part of our mission to move money without borders.
Qualifications
A bit about you:
- Demonstrable experience leading, building, embedding and scaling third party risk management processes to effectively onboard, manage and offboard third parties.
- Experience in negotiating contracts and running RFPs- preferably with a global scope
- Strong and demonstrable understanding of third party regulations
- Strong leadership skills, being able to communicate to a large team and influence teams to work towards a single consolidated plan
- Have a track record in taking ownership of cross-functional projects and clear communication, including being able to focus people behind a common goal, ‘tell the story’ and make the complex simple.
- Can adapt your approach to working with a range of stakeholders with different needs
- A knowledge of how fast growth companies work - how to balance between maturity in governance and processes, and the practical considerations of fast growth and scaling.
- Have a get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem solving and an ability to seek creative, risk-based solutions for complex matters with minimal oversight.
- Well organised and able to manage and prioritise numerous projects simultaneously.
- Have professionalism and high integrity.
