Please note that this role is a Hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote.
Summary
The Senior Context Planner is a client facing asset and is in charge of integrated go-to-market planning that incites audience participation. It’s your responsibility to gain an in-depth understanding of the people, passions, and platforms that matter most to the audience, and to rethink media in new ways to help our brand partners communicate through the places, spaces, times and people that our audience will be most receptive to.
What You'll Do
- Lead development of comms plans, campaign rollouts, creative ecosystems, and customer journeys , creative ecosystems, and customer journeys
- Mine qualitative research for cultural insights that enhance the creative product
- Identify bespoke cultural moments that are ripe and ownable for brand activation
- Lead authorship of campaign talent filters and casting recommendations
- Partner with creative teams on out-the-box extension tactics to support big idea platforms
- Partner with UMT’s “stratpack” to create “Get Smart” research docs in support of project kickoffs that help retrace recent brand activity, categorical trends, consumer insights, and white-space opportunities to inform brand action
- Create risk assessment documents in moments where stakeholders want to pursue a potentially problematic idea
- Build trust with day to day client (and senior client on occasion) through presentation + thought leadership
- Lead discussions with media agencies and content/experiential partners to ensure our core idea is properly understood and elevated
- Partner with account and strategy teams to build case studies and contribute to award show submissions
- Proactively contribute thought leadership throughout the agency (Flash Forecast weekly newsletter)
- Lead script writing and creative development for “Outcomes” assets to be used for pitch theater

- Manage, nurture, and delegate with clarity to direct reports, ensuring their success and professional development
- Recognize patterns and mechanics displayed by people and brands that move culture and incite action.
- Become fluent in the sub-cultures our audience subscribes to by immersing yourself in the networks, rituals, artifacts and language they practice.
- Constantly seek out first-to-market media opportunities that position our brands as category disruptors.
- Confidence in packaging and presentation of work to inspire both internal and external sell-through.
- Possess and demonstrate a vibrant connection to and fluency in pop culture and brand trends.
- Passion for diving deep into research and data to unearth actionable insights that propel the creative.
- Subscribe to a constant plan of refinements and updates as new tech, media and consumer insights arise
Minimum Qualifications
- Possess excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills.
- Have the proven ability to work under tight deadlines and handle pressure, while consistently paying attention to accuracy and quality of work.
- Exercise the ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changing needs and expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a strategic position in an agency or brand environment
- 4-year college degree in Marketing, Advertising or Business preferred.
- Digitally savvy; MUST be proficient in Google Suite and Keynote (Mac preferred).

Salary Hiring Range:
$100,000 - $110,000Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.
