Sigma Defense is a Lead Senior Systems Engineer to support Army Network Modernization CONUS and OCONUS who will manage the computer network systems for our customer to include integrations of new technology, and designing new solutions to address complex application and network issues as well as performance goals.The ideal candidate is able to travel to U.S. Army bases CONUS and OCONUS 20% of the time and is an experienced lead member of cross functional hardware, software, and system design teams responsible for the realization of complex computing and communications systems.

The candidate shall have experience in developing Concept of Operations, requirements decomposition, trade studies, performance analysis, design, integration, and verification of network systems. Must be experienced in both on-premise and cloud network design and operations. This is a contingent position that is pending award of contract. This means that the position is subject to the successful awarding of a contract and will be confirmed once the contract is finalized. The candidate selected for this role will be offered the position on the condition that the contract is awarded to our organization.

Determination on award of contract is targeted for 2025.

Requirements


  • 15+ years of related experience; 8 years of experience specific to network design, maintenance, and operation.
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS 20% of the time.

Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field of study.

Personnel Clearance Level:


  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance.
  • A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Computer Programs/Software Experience:


  • MySQL
  • Python
  • Linux

Essential Job Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)


  • Research and communicate all current and upcoming system requirements and strategic goals.
  • Research existing and emerging hardware and software technology to determine capabilities and cost effectiveness for continued development of network system solutions.
  • Coordinate with other functional areas to design effective solutions that meet requirements for functionality and integrate with existing components.
  • Manage development, testing, and deployment of software, hardware, and other computer system technologies to ensure compliance with operational network requirements for security, performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Oversee well-organized and efficient planning and implementation of network systems.
  • Create highly detailed documentation of design specifications and work instructions as necessary to ensure all network systems personnel and end-users are able to interact correctly and effectively with the hardware and software network systems.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $190,000 annually.
