Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Administrator to lead the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Power BI Architecture, data visualization principles, strong analytical skills, and extensive experience in manipulating and transforming complex datasets. The Senior Power BI Administrator will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments to translate business requirements into actionable insights and reliable accurate data models.
Located in the Houston, Texas area and open to hybrid schedule preferred (3 days in-office, 2 WFH/week). This position is open to candidates located outside of the Houston, Texas area that reside within the continental US.
Duties and responsibilities
- Design and implement data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business objectives and decision-making processes.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand data needs, and provide innovative solutions to address challenges.
- Optimize performance and efficiency of Power BI reports and queries through data modeling and optimization techniques.
- Create and maintain documentation related to data sources, data models, and Power BI solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Power BI solutions with existing systems and applications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the team, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and related technologies, recommending opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in developing business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, DAX, and M language for data manipulation and transformation.
- Extensive experience in semantic model creation and optimization, data visualization, and techniques such as Row-level Security and incremental refresh
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality Power BI solutions that meet business requirements including but not limited to self-service analytics, embedded analytics, and alerting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.
- Solid understanding of Fabric data warehousing concepts and methodologies such as Lakehouses, OneLake, Delta Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess Microsoft Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Familiarity with Power BI Deployment Pipelines
