The role will work closely and report into the Group Financial Controller, the role is responsible for preparation of the consolidated monthly group accounts and ownership of the financial accounting of the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and ownership of the monthly group consolidated reporting, including:
- Goodwill and other acquisition adjustments
- Group elimination adjustments and intercompany reconciliations
- Foreign currency conversion of foreign currency results
- Ownership of the accounting of the group’s equity and debt instruments
- Reviews of all group subsidiary results
- Monthly reviews of the group’s balance sheet, including working with local finance teams to resolve any issues.
- Owning the audits of the group holding companies, including being the audit contact for any non-trading balance.
- Work closely with the US team to ensure group reporting is aligned with UK GAAP.
- Working with the Group Financial Controller in year end compliance:
- Preparation of the statutory consolidation workings
- Review or preparation of the statutory financial statements
- Review of the corporation tax returns
- Preparation of acquisition accounting for future acquisitions into the Group.
- Be the first point of contact for any technical accounting requirement.
- Owning the following UK compliance requirements:
- VAT return submissions and payments
- Preparation and filing of confirmation statements
- Other ad-hoc projects for the Group Financial Controller.
Experience / Skills Required:
- ACA qualified with at least 1 year’s post qualification experience in industry.
- Strong technical skills.
- Completed the ACA through an established audit firm.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with statutory audits
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines and to act on own initiative
- First class communication skills, including fluent in written and spoken English, competent at communicating at all levels with both finance and non-finance teams
