About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Yield Analyst who will support the Yield Management & Strategy team in maximizing yield on Instacart’s ad products. This individual will conduct routine and ad-hoc analysis on trade offs between price and sell through in one of the fastest-moving categories in the consumer space: groceries. This role will focus on developing insights and turning them into action, driving complex analysis and communicating those learnings to cross-functional team members and leadership. Through these efforts, this individual will drive a meaningful impact on the financial performance of the Instacart Advertising business.
About the Team
The Yield Management and Strategy team sits at the intersection of supply and demand in the ads marketplace. Its mission is to optimize Instacart ads revenue and long-term profitability through strategic pricing, inventory management, and data-driven insights. We collaborate with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to shape the product roadmap, develop innovative offerings, and build best-in-class campaign optimization frameworks. We also facilitate seamless transactions via our ads deal desk, ensuring mutual success for our clients and sustained growth for our advertising business..
About the Job
- Monitor overall site monetization and sell-through by product and page type
- Create and scale frameworks that provide ads leadership insight about the health of our ads business from an inventory and yield perspective
- Conduct detailed analysis to identify and quantify new revenue opportunities
- Based on analysis, develop recommendations around adjustments to floor prices, categories where increased auction density would have an outsized revenue impact, and other revenue optimization tactics
- Formulate pricing policy and correspond with Sales on pricing exceptions
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as, Mathematics/Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business
- Ads experience with demonstrated cross-functional influence, and a track record of leveraging data for business impact.
- Ability to deep dive into data, identify and quantify opportunities, and design creative and sustainable solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL required
- Polished communication skills
- Ability to identify and develop business cases for strategic growth opportunities and operational improvements.
- A self-starter with the ability to quickly respond to problems independently and operate in a fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at or with a Retail Media Network
- Programmatic advertising experience
- Experience with BI tools, and/or Python/R
