Staff Reliability Engineer

Lime is hiring a Staff Reliability Engineer to join our Hardware Team at our Kunshan China office. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and quality of our products from prototype to mass production. You will be responsible for translating high-level product requirements into detailed test and qualification specifications, establishing best practices and documentation standards for reliability testing, and managing efforts to improve test methodologies to reduce time and increase coverage.

Your expertise will be instrumental in conducting accelerated life tests for vehicle systems or components and providing comprehensive reports to the engineering teams.

What you'll do:


  • Take high level product requirements and turn them into detailed test and qualification specs.
  • Establish reliability test best practices and documentation standards.
  • Support the Reliability test needs from Proto to Mass production.
  • Evaluate and develop reliability test methodologies to reduce test time and increase test coverage.
  • Spearhead and drive on D-FMEA, debugging, failure analysis, DOEs and fixing issues discovered during testing.
  • Design and perform the Accelerated Life Test for vehicle systems or components. 
  • Summarize the test data and write the test report. And communicate effectively to US engineering teams.
  • Work with the Engineering team, Supply chain, Quality and suppliers to implement the failure analysis for the root causes analysis and corrective actions.

About you:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent engineering field required with at least 7+ years of work experience in reliability engineering 
  • or PhD with at least 3+  years of work experience in reliability engineering
  • Knowledgeable with industry test standards including ASTM, MIL, JEDEC, and IEC.
  • Skilled in Life data analysis with Weibull++ tool or Minitab/JUMP.
  • Knowledgeable of mechanical design, material science, and failure mechanisms of consumer electronics or LEV (Light Electric Vehicles)
  • Working knowledge of test equipment including environmental chambers, vibration tables, tensile and compression testers, strain gauges, thermocouples, etc.
  • Problem solver skilled at identifying and resolving complex problems, exercising good judgment in drawing conclusions, navigating ambiguous environments while handling multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to flex your communication style to varied audiences
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams to drive design feedback
  • Preferred Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent engineering with at least 5+ years of work experience in reliability engineering field preferred
