Manager of Communications to oversee both our external Public Relations (PR) initiatives and internal company communications. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading global communications programs to increase awareness among key audiences and develop executive thought leadership programs. They should also possess experience in directing internal communications strategies to foster company alignment and engagement.This leader will play a pivotal role within the dbt Labs Marketing team and across our company leadership. They will be responsible for all PR activities, including product, customer, partner, and corporate PR, with clear objectives for securing coverage and driving growth in getdbt.com traffic.

Additionally, this role will involve establishing an internal communications program for our expanding, global, and remote workforce.

Responsibilities


  • Create an external communications strategy and execute it in strong collaboration with our PR agency
  • Drive tier 1 coverage of dbt Labs customers, CEO, partnerships, and product offerings
  • Take ownership of our thought leadership program for executives and product leaders
  • Utilize PR to drive awareness growth, as measured by PR coverage and traffic
  • Develop an internal communications program across multiple channels, including meetings (All Hands, Town Hall, AMAs) and asynchronous platforms (Notion, Slack, etc)

Required skillset:


  • 10+ years of PR leadership experience
  • Experience leading external communications and achieving communication results for a startup
  • "In-house" PR experience (can be in addition to agency experience)
  • Strategic and analytical thinker
  • Experience persuading and collaborating with senior leadership
  • Extremely collaborative worker - with agencies, marketing teams, and key leaders
  • Outstanding communicator and writer, with a proven ability to draft effective narratives
  • Experience with Cloud/SaaS; Experience in the Data/Analytics space preferred

Compensation & Benefits


  • Salary: $178,000 - $209,000
