Northstar Response™ will enable clinicians to monitor a patient’s early response to these cancer therapies, by measuring minute changes in their ctDNA, which can reduce ineffective treatments and unwanted toxicity, lower costs, and substantially improve clinical outcomes.We are looking for an Automation Service Engineer Associate II, Oncology to join our growing Service Engineering team in support of clinical patient testing in our high throughput CLIA lab. The Automation Service Engineer Associate II will be responsible for primary service response to laboratory operations at BillionToOne.
The selected candidate will be responsible for working in a team responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of laboratory equipment. This position requires an individual skilled in providing technical service, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing laboratory equipment. The role is a full-time onsite position in our Menlo Park office.
Shift Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Work in a team responsible for service, support, and troubleshooting of automated processes and instrumentation.
- Responsible for performing or coordinating maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Perform Installation, Operational, and Process Qualification on equipment and as needed.
- Troubleshoot and triage equipment issues and involve vendors as required.
- Draft documentation related to equipment operation and maintenance as needed.
- Suggest process improvements and design a plan to execute them.
- Maintain organized equipment parts inventory and comprehensive equipment records.
- Execute special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- BS degree in a scientific discipline.
- 1+ years of experience operating and troubleshooting Liquid Handlers and other laboratory equipment.
- Experience working in a CLIA regulated environment.
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems with minimal direction.
- Strong willingness to learn in a complex laboratory environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent documentation skills with working knowledge of Good Document Practice.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience troubleshooting liquid handlers is desirable.
- Experience developing training programs and performing knowledge transfer.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
