We are hiring a contract Virtual Care Veterinarian to temporarily partner with our amazing Virtual Care Team.
The contract Virtual Care Veterinarian is responsible for communicating with owners and providing care for pets via our electronic platform. The contract duration will be for up to 6 months. This role is a fully remote position and will require work hours in the pacific time zone.
Schedule: 2 days per week (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST.
A successful person in this role will have exceptional interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented with a focus on providing the gold standard of care, and is able to practice autonomously.
What you’ll be working on:
- Continue in-person care on a virtual level, providing client education or counseling for existing or new medical issues in conjunction with in-clinic DVMs
- Formulate and execute appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans; modifying/altering plans in light of new information or a change in the clinical state of the patient
- Communicate clearly and succinctly with clients regarding exam and laboratory findings, preventive care recommendations, diagnostic and treatment options, and disease prognosis
- Partner closely with other practice doctors and supporting technicians to ensure continuity of care and communication and adherence to medical standards
- Consult with specialists regarding patient diagnostics and/or response to therapy; transfer care and/or refer as appropriate
- Resolve client escalations; lead efforts to improve processes and experiences as necessary
To apply, you must have:
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or completed requirements to practice in the United States
- Active license to practice veterinary medicine in California required at the start of employment. Additional licensure in Texas is a plus
- License must be in good standing with no malpractice or disciplinary actions
The pay range for this position is $700 - $1000 per 10-hour shift; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per the California Pay Transparency Act.
