What You’ll Do


  • Help explore and ultimately define the brand voice as an important part of our brand style guide.
  • Deliver the brand voice throughout all communications materials.
  • Create compelling and innovative copy for different consumer media, including display advertising, radio ads, email communications, social media, affiliate communication, video content and event materials.
  • Own all website copy on our consumer acquisition site including updates, new content, new features and test scenarios.
  • Understand and clearly articulate our positioning, products and services.
  • Proof, edit and rewrite marketing materials driving brand style and tone consistency.
  • Be responsible for the quality and accuracy of all communication pieces.
  • Partner with other departments to write marketing materials that target audiences such as healthcare providers, academics and the scientific community.

What You'll Bring


  • 5+ years work experience as a copywriter in a reputable ad agency or a consumer brand.
  • Experience writing for multiple media channels (website, radio and video scripts, banner ads, etc.).
  • Talent for writing engaging and concise copy for consumers in a technical category or in the healthcare space.
  • Experience developing cutting edge, innovative creative concepts, and working closely with an art director or designer.
  • Attention to detail and a high quality bar.
  • Ability to advocate your ideas, but also the ability to work in a team and incorporate others’ feedback.
  • BA/BS or equivalent.
  • Writing samples and portfolio required. A writing assignment may be asked of you during the interview process.

Pay Transparency


23andMe takes a market-based approach to pay, and amounts will vary depending on your geographic location. The salary range reflected here is for a candidate based in the San Francisco Bay Area.  The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.San Francisco Bay Area Base Pay Range$114,000—$171,000 USD
