Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this People Leader is responsible for helping employees be productive, engaged and effective at work, from the moment they are hired to the moment they leave. 

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the “employee lifecycle” end to end: onboarding, benefit enrollment, transfers, changes to employee record, leaves of absence and off-boarding.
  • Responsible for Benefits strategy and administration. Experience moving from PEO to fully insured plans. 
  • Responsible for all employee data and upkeep of all People Systems (including those in spreadsheets). Big plus if they have experience assessing, selecting and implementing new HR tools and technology.
  • Partners with Finance to drive HC planning/tracking, pay and equity changes and bonus plans (documentation and execution)
  • Partners closely with the Lead Operations HRBP to support the field and drive consistency and efficiency when and where it makes sense for employees and the business
  • Partners closely with Legal on immigration cases and mobility
  • Responsible for HQ employee relations, including investigations, documentation and partnership with legal when necessary
  • Partners with Chief People Officer and Founders to build and implement key People Programs for both HQ and the Field
  • Helps execute/manage key People Programs: Compensation programs, performance management, onboarding 
  • Understands and proactively keeps up with ever changing compliance, laws and regulations (for all jurisdictions and employee populations)
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting HR metrics
  • Compensation experience a big plus (compensation benchmarking, survey data, merit cycle management, bonus tracking, etc) 
  • Responsible for managing and developing People Ops team (2 employees), including day to day direction 

Requirements:


  • At least 12+ years of experience 
  • Can “fly high and low” but enjoys being hands on and “in the weeds”
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented
  • Venture backed, start-up HR experience required
  • Process thinker that leverages process improvement methodologies
  • Strong communicator both verbally and written
  • Spikes to the operational side of the Strategy/Operational continuum. Drives operational rigor by identifying, monitoring, and improving key people and operational metrics
  • Builds for today with an eye towards tomorrow. We need to be nimble and process light in many cases but we also need to ensure we are creating foundations that scale towards IPO readiness.
  • Pragmatic problem solver: builds solutions with clearly defined scope, deliverables, resources, and key measures of success
  • Data driven with an eye towards unlocking data insights that support decisions and efficiency gains.
  • Employee centric: Collaborates with stakeholders and cross-functional partner teams to implement a customer-focused mindset in building out People technology, processes, and operational capabilities across offices
  • Strong manager and mentor - experience building and scaling a people ops team
  • Note: This person does not need to have deep Zum related industry experience but does need to be interested in and excited about our vision/mission

The target base salary range for this role is listed in the compensation section below. Actual salary may be above or below this range based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. In addition, this position may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. The targeted pay range for the role in US CA is $225-275kZum Services, Inc.
