The Opportunity
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding the engineering teams responsible for Infrastructure, FinOps, Licensing, SRE, and Operational Readiness. This role demands a leader who can balance technical depth with strategic foresight, driving initiatives that enhance our products' reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Engineering Managers overseeing Infrastructure, FinOps, Licensing, SRE, and Operational Readiness teams.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy that aligns with HashiCorp's objectives, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and cohesion among specialized teams.
- Foster an environment of technical innovation and excellence, encouraging your teams to explore and implement best practices in cloud infrastructure management, operational readiness, and reliability engineering.
- Drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and performance across our cloud products, addressing current challenges and anticipating future needs.
- Mentor and support Engineering Managers and their teams, promoting professional growth, collaboration, and high performance.
- Work closely with product management, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure engineering efforts are closely aligned with business goals and customer needs.
- Uphold and advocate for HashiCorp's culture and values, inspiring your teams to deliver their best work in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role managing multiple teams.
- Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams across different domains, such as infrastructure, SRE, FinOps, or similar areas.
- Strong technical foundation, with the ability to engage deeply on technical topics related to cloud infrastructure, software reliability, and operational practices.
- Proven track record of strategic planning and execution, with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across teams and with senior leadership.
- Experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments, navigating the complexities of scaling both teams and technology.
- Familiarity with HashiCorp’s technology stack and products is a plus. #LI-hybrid
