The Role
Flock Safety is looking for a motivated and detail oriented Assembly Technician to join the Logistics and Distribution team. This is a one month contract to hire position. This role has a starting pay of $20/hr. In our warehouse in Atlanta GA, you will work with a team of dedicated employees in working toward Flock's overall mission. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role by helping the team produce finished goods that are essential to our Field Operations team. Our Assembly Technicians are responsible for the building and repair of solar panels that are critical infrastructure for our crime prevention technology. This position will help support all areas of the Warehouse including but not limited to: merchandise handling, receiving, shipping, packaging, and the handling of cardboard and waste for team efficiency as needed.
How you'll make an impact:
- Perform assembly and installation of solar panels according to established guidelines and specifications.
- Safely and proficiently operate basic hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and occasionally operate a forklift.
- Inspect and test completed solar panels to ensure they meet quality standards and performance requirements.
- Conduct cycle counts on vital supplies that support Flocks finished product.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, including installation details, materials used, and any issues encountered during the assembly process.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries while working with tools, equipment, and solar panel materials.
- Identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions with solar panel components during assembly, repair or testing, reporting complex problems to the supervisor.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of solar panel components, metal works, tools, and equipment, reporting any shortages or damaged items to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure their optimal functionality, and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Prepare and package materials for shipment based upon guidelines.
- Attention to detail and an ability to follow processes effectively.
- Stack and arrange products into crates, boxes, and cartons.
- Provide internal customer support to other departments to assist with their shipping, inventory, and logistics needs.
- Report to management and be accountable for unsuitable products that do not meet Flocks quality standards.
- Organizing and storing received items in appropriate areas.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
- Be prepared to contribute to other warehouse tasks such as assembly, and packaging of inventory as directed by management.
We're looking for people who:
- Familiarity with operating pallet jacks and forklifts, with proper certification and training.
- 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, or retail environment.
- Proven experience in material assembly or a related field.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and power tools.
- Must have a basic knowledge of Word, Google Sheets, Salesforce experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment for extended periods.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them consistently.
- Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physically capable of performing receiving and material handling activities
- Ability to bend and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to meet or exceed attendance requirements, providing reliable and predictable attendance
- Sets effective work goals, establish priorities, and produce quality work
