If that sounds inspiring to you, let’s get in touch!Job purposeThe role of the Technical Writer is to support the Head of Product Documentation in creating and maintaining Product-related documentation (functional documentation, release notes, technical know-how, FAQs etc.), in order to foster a strong knowledge culture within the company, reduce support overhead and empower users to maximise the value of our software products.Duties and responsibilitiesAs a Technical Writer, your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Write clear, concise, and engaging functional documentation to facilitate user adoption of our products
- Product accurate technical documentation, including user manuals, API documentation, release notes, and developer guides.
- Write efficient, purpose-oriented implementation guides that allow administrators to implement our solutions autonomously
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and understand complex technical concepts, translating them into easily understandable language for end-users.
- Work closely with software development teams to ensure that documentation is aligned with product features and updates, reflecting the most current information.
- Organise and maintain documentation repositories, ensuring version control and accessibility for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and consistency.
- Participate in usability testing and gather feedback to continually improve the quality and usability of our documentation.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Linguistics, Computer science or other related field at the minimum
- Knowledge in content management strategies/content management software
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer in a software development environment
- Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, etc.
- Experience with documentation as code is strongly preferred, with knowledge of GIT and version control
- Knowledge of software development cycles and process; knowledge of Agile methodology is a plus
- Excellent level in written and spoken English (English mother tongue or fully fluent)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including communicating complex technical topics in simple terms to internal and external partners
- Keen visual eye with strong attention for the smallest details
- Proactive work attitude, hardworking, problem-solving and results-driven
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; capable of working autonomously and to take initiative regarding tasks to be performed
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
- Curious – prepared to challenge and be challenged
- Adaptable and flexible to meet demands, relentless and passionate to get the job done
Nice to have
- Knowledge of MadCap Flare is a strong plus
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus
