About the Role
FareHarbor’s Legal team is looking for a dynamic and innovative US regional legal counsel who has a keen eye for detail whilst keeping the bigger business context in mind. The ideal candidate is excellent at drafting and just as talented at managing and collaborating with a range of stakeholders across the business, and is excited at the opportunity to work in a fast paced travel and tech environment where you can truly make a difference.As US regional legal counsel you will be relied upon to work closely with the Core FareHarbor Legal Team based in Amsterdam, and work directly alongside business units in the US, drawing upon your legal knowledge, business acumen and excellent drafting and management skills to provide on-the-ground support and identify potential legal issues, ultimately helping to achieve the functional business objectives. You will provide impactful analysis and advice on legal questions needed to unlock challenges and move commercial agreements in the US forward.
You will spend time drafting and negotiating agreements, and managing the process from inception through to signature. You will also be a key stakeholder in answering incoming legal questions from business stakeholders in the US.This role will be part-time, with the expectation of 2 working days/week, and temporary, with an initial period of 3 months.
What you’ll do here:
- Liaise directly with business stakeholders located in the US as a reliable and commercially minded first point of contact within legal.
- Draft and negotiate clear and commercially sound legal agreements with activity providers and strategic partners in the US, within agreed parameters and guidelines.
- Provide legal advice and respond to incoming questions from business units in the US covering legal commercial topics relevant to FareHarbor and the broader industry.
- Collaborate closely with FareHarbor’s Core Legal team based in Amsterdam.
- Research regulatory topics relevant to the US and confidentially turn research into pragmatic legal advice and actions.
- Perform legal & compliance training in the US.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Must be a U.S. licensed attorney in good standing with the applicable State Bar
- 2-4 years’ experience in a reputable law firm or in-house team as US commercial/contracting counsel
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines, prioritizing appropriately
- Excellent drafting skills
- Confidence in your ability to provide assistance to the Core Legal team in Amsterdam and business units
- Organized with an ability to prioritize and drive progress within a very fast paced environment
- Able to demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of the business requirements
- Professional and collaborative approach
- A high standard of knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Suite (Google Sheets, Google Docs).
