Skillshare is seeking a talented and motivated marketing leader with proven experience in building brands, launching campaigns, and creating thumb-stopping content. The Director of Brand & Social will lead Skillshare’s overarching brand marketing and go-to market strategy across owned and earned channels. 
Reporting to the VP, Marketing, we’re looking for a strategic yet hands-on leader to act as the connective tissue for the brand vision cross-functionally to drive brand awareness, consideration and preference. As a key member of the Marketing Leadership team, this role will be responsible for contributing to Skillshare’s overall marketing strategy and team culture while overseeing direct reports & contractors.

What you'll do:


  • Develop - and execute on - brand, campaign, and social strategies that drive awareness, adoption and engagement of Skillshare’s suite of existing and new product offerings
  • Collaborate closely with Community, Content & Creative Studio, Product, and Business Development to elevate each team’s efforts through owned channels
  • Manage a small and mighty team spanning social media and integrated marketing
  • Set and implement a content- and social-first social strategy across our key channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads)
  • Define OKRs for the Brand & Social team, working closely across the Marketing team and with the data team, and report back on key initiatives
  • Set up measurement and insights capabilities, and work with the team to regularly track, learn from, and communicate the impact of brand and campaign marketing efforts
  • Deeply understand our target customer; lead relevant customer research and insights development through external and in-house research channels that inform our marketing mix, messaging and priorities 
  • Own our integration marketing calendar across the company, working closely with channel leads to ensure campaigns launch on time and in sync
  • Define and deliver our culture / DEIB and tentpole campaigns
  • Stay on top of cultural trends, the competitive landscape and target market insights
