An Account Manager at 5 serves as the primary point of contact for large commercial and industrial clients, focusing on client service and building long-term relationships. In this role, you will facilitate the successful development, evaluation, and implementation of customized energy and sustainability strategies in collaboration with our clients and advisors. Account Managers play a vital role in ensuring that 5 consistently exceeds client expectations throughout the entire engagement process. Candidates without prior experience in the energy industry will not be considered for this position.

What you'll be doing:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for 5's largest clients on energy-related matters.
- Develop and present energy management strategies to clients independently and in collaboration with other team members.
- Coordinate internal efforts to assess client needs and review market opportunities as part of the overall support team.
- Provide expert energy advice to companies facing complex energy challenges, including volatile market prices, reliability concerns, and the imperative to meet aggressive carbon reduction targets.
- Effectively communicate and promote new services as they are introduced, ensuring clients are aware of their potential benefits.
- Diagnose client issues, enlist necessary support, and facilitate resolution efficiently. Account Managers should adeptly identify problems, engage relevant colleagues, and ensure swift resolution.
What you'll bring:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the energy industry (retail gas and/or electricity procurement, sustainability, solar, demand response, etc.), or in a related field with transferable skills.
- Experience working within ERCOT, PJM, or NYISO is preferred.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple clients/accounts and adeptly handle challenging situations.
- Enjoyment of solving complex problems is essential.
- Experience in a client-facing role involving presentation development and strong project management skills is preferred.
- Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and other channels.
- Ambition, passion, teamwork, and grit are essential qualities for this role.
- B2B outside sales experience is a plus.
- Superior communication skills are necessary.
- BA/BS degree required; MA/MS degree highly desired.
$95,000 - $110,000 a yearThe salary is based on experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, there is a quarterly team based sales bonus along with participation in the company’s annual bonus plan.Apply for this job
