CTI is currently seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our team. We are a rapidly growing software, systems, and operational support corporation dedicated to providing user-focused technologies for military and other security applications. As a Java Software Engineer at CTI, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software applications
- Work effectively as part of a team with a technical lead providing guidance and oversight
- Provide and receive feedback in code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to coding standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation that improve the stability, performance, and quality of the software
- Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies
This is a hybrid position with a travel / in-person presence requirement as needed to customer sites (anticipated 2 days a week at customer site at Camp Pendleton AFB in Oceanside California).
Requirements
Necessary skills and experience
- 5 years of experience in programming, engineering, or related work
- Proficiency in Java, C#, or similar object-oriented programming language
- Version control systems, such as Git
- Build tools, such as Gradle or Maven
- Experience driving technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identify solutions, and communicate the process and conclusions to an engineering team
- Initiative and the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
- Ability to communicate effectively via multiple mediums and with management, co-workers, and customers, both technical and non-technical
- Proficiency in writing clean code and leveraging best practices for implementation, documentation, and testing
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field
- The ability to obtain a US security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.(Secret security clearance a plus)
- Ability to travel at least 2 days a week to Camp Pendleton AFB in Oceanside California.

- Familiarity with WGS84 modeling and applications
