Job SummaryThe ECDS Systems Engineer is responsible for providing the technical leadership in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of complex cross domain systems. The Systems Engineer performs the system engineering and development associated with designing of systems during pre-delivery design, integration, and acceptance. Duties include technical responsibility for planning defining and executing technical programs, projects, or phases of projects to include customer interfaces, requirements development, design reviews, and technical interchanges, and all aspects of prototype/product system design, development, demonstration, and evaluation.Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and defining high-level system architectures to develop secure system solutions for cross-domain systems (CDS) and dataflows.
- Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities.
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility analysis.
- Conduct and/or approve end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize system operations over its life cycle through the proper balance of functional, performance and non-functional system attributes and performance areas.
- Develop detailed project plans and project schedules including milestones and dependencies for CDS projects from requirements gathering through implementation.
- Able to identify risks and develop risk mitigation plans incorporated into project plans.
- Develop system architecture and system design documentation as it relates to CDS to include hardware/software lists, rack and cabling diagrams, system concept of operations (CONOPS), network/data flow diagrams, and bill of materials (BOM).

- Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
- Ability to create agendas for, lead and facilitate meetings, and create presentations to communicate effectively with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
- Provide regular status reports when required to peers and program leadership
Position Requirements:
- TS/SCI w CI Polygraph required
- Experience with systems development and architecting on Linux based applications platforms
- 5+ years of experience with Cross Domain Solutions architecting and implementation, including Forcepoint High Speed Guards, OWL Diodes, Radiant Mercury, or ISSE Guards
- Experience with design or implementation of VMWare ESXi, vSphere, or vRealize Operations in a secure application architecture
- Experience with implementing Infrastructure as Code technologies, including Chef, Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack.
- Experience with RMF/ICD-503 across the engineering system development lifecycle
- Experience with secure architecting methods and modern defense in depth solutions including zero trust, and secure cross domain solutions.
- Experience with networking and cloud-based solutions (commercial, private on-premise, or hybrid)
- Experience with agile development methodologies for applications and system development
