Provide backup/restore support for two on prem Data Centers running Linux and Windows operating systems. The COTS software used for backup/restore operations is CommVault and the tape infrastructure is SpectraLogic
Task Description:Linux Administrative activities include:
- Maintaining a stable Backup/restore environment
- Patch backup servers monthly or on as needed basis for vulnerabilities
- Proficient in VMWare Esxi infrastructure and knowledge on various backup methodologies available
- Must excel at troubleshooting complex problems to resolution.
- Must be able to configure and install Enterprise backup solutions and manage clients running the backup software.
- Ability to do snapshot, full and incremental backups
- Suggest newer backup technologies to move away from tape backups
Required skills/Level of Experience :
- 4 – 8 years of experience with planning, designing, and installing Enterprise backup solutions
- Should have expert level knowledge on Spectralogic tape drives and CommVault COTS
- VMWare ESXi
- The ability to obtain a security clearance
