FreedomPay is seeking an attorney for project work primarily to support contract negotiation. The attorney will review and negotiate contracts under the direction of a managing attorney. Contract types include: NDAs, vendor agreements, possibly some SaaS agreements and statements of work. May be asked to provide further support on other legal department matters depending on volume and as assigned by managing attorney. The selected candidate must commit to a minimum of ten hours per week. Schedule of those hours is flexible, as long as minimum availability is met and matters are supported on approved timelines.
Availability is expected during normal business hours. Pay will be at an agreed hourly rate, expected to be ten hours with variability up to fifteen hours per week, as workload dictates and is approved.
Qualifications/Skills
- Strong project management skills required
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate important legal concerns/principles to business units and non-lawyers
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, colleagues, and internal and external contacts
- Candidate must carry their own malpractice insurance
Education/Experience
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to PA state bar in good standing
- 5 or more years of prior in-house legal department or relevant private practice experience
- Interest and/or experience in the technology sector.
- Familiarity with software-as-a-service (SaaS) is preferred
- Experience with data protection/privacy and cybersecurity a plus
- Payment industry experience is a plus
