This enables us to collaborate and train with the world’s most advanced military systems and develop our soldiers’ capabilities, as the world’s most important line of defense.
The Role
Red 6 is seeking a highly experienced Chief Engineer to join our dynamic team in Louisville, CO. The Chief Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving overall system architecture, primarily focusing on hardware with a complementary understanding of software. As a deeply technical and cross-functional leader, the Chief Engineer will lead critical design decisions, conduct trade studies, and translate customer requirements into actionable system and subsystem specifications. Moreover, the Chief Engineer will collaborate with government customers, guiding the development of internal technical roadmaps to meet evolving customer needs and ensure Red 6 remains at the forefront of innovation.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant experience in system engineering, hardware design, and technical leadership roles for simulation, AR, VR, or related products in the defense, aerospace or related industries
- Proven expertise in system architecture design, with a strong emphasis on combined hardware/software systems and systems integration
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive decisions on complex technical issues and system trades
- Ability to perform system analysis to ensure subsystem specification, when all tied together, meet product requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced technical degree preferred.
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Experience with Sensors (camera, time-of-flight), image processing
- Experience with virtual reality or augmented reality hardware (Rift, VIVE, Gear VR, etc.)
- Experience working with government customers and understanding of defense industry standards and protocols
- Experience designing complex electromechanical systems, and successfully getting those systems certified for DoD use
- Solid understanding of requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORs
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: $190,000 to $240,000, depending on experience.
