Databricks Administrator
The role of the Databricks Administrator is to support the administration and daily operations of the Databricks platform. You will collaborate closely with delivery teams to understand their customers' questions and needs and then ensure that solutions are designed and developed to meet their functional and technical requirements. This position is crucial to the platform as it provides a centralized workspace for users to explore data and build analytical projects, tools, and model architectures.
Requirements
Position Specific:
- Experience as a Databricks account owner, proficient in managing workspaces, AWS accounts, audit logs, and high-level usage monitoring
- Proficiency in managing Databricks workspace as an admin, including managing workspace users and groups, single sign-on, provisioning, access control, and workspace storage
- Experience in managing S3 access across a large user base
- Proficiency in managing cluster and job configuration options
- Experience with Databrickssecurity and privacy setup
- Proficiency in troubleshooting end-user and platform-level issues
- Experience in delivering client presentations and demos
- Experience in optimizing usage for performance and cost is preferred
- Ability to multitask and reprioritize tasks according to the needs of a growing platform and its stakeholders
- Strong coding skills in SQL and Python (PySpark), with experience in optimizing code
Required Experience:
- A total of five (5+) years of experience in IT administration, including at least two (2) years as a Databricks Administrator
- At least two (2+) years of hands-on experience in Databricks administration, from setting up the Databricks environment to successfully administering it
- AWS experience is required, and Databricks E2 experience is preferred
Required Education:
General:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in systems with complex requirements
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
- Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to navigate in an office setting unassisted
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear manner and excellent word enunciation skills, are required
