Job Summary:


Streamline Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Control Room Operator for its San Antonio Area Command Center. We are seeking a skilled Control Room operator to take on the responsibility of remotely monitoring, operating, and analyzing our fleet of natural gas sweetening process plants. As a Streamline Control Room Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our state-of-the-art Valkyrie Assets. You will be responsible for providing advanced condition monitoring and data analyses of critical plant systems and components, then interfacing with plant personnel and internal subject matter experts to diagnose and develop actions for plant and/or equipment-related problems.

CR Operators will have day-to-day responsibilities for monitoring and interpreting the alerts/alarms produced within our Distributive Control System (DCS). You will act as the frontline for the overall unit health by detecting anomalies and providing the proper communication and/or actions to return equipment to typical operating state. This role will require plant operations throughout a variety of operational scenarios from cold plant start up to emergency operations during plant upsets. This aspect of the position will require excellent troubleshooting, diagnosis, decision-making, and leadership skills. This position will require working experience with the use of Distributive Control System (DCS) or SCADA computers to operate plant equipment and for monitoring of equipment to measure, record, and make adjustments within operating parameters.

Additionally, it will also include dispatching remote personnel as needs arise which require site presence. The position will assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide input to plant improvement items to improve plant efficiency, reliability, regulatory compliance, and safety. Candidate should have a good working knowledge of PC computers using Microsoft Office products.

Job Duties:


  • Provide constant monitoring of gas sweetening Valkyrie units including real-time data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and overall unit health
  • Maintain process health and operating efficiency of 20-40 variable throughput units through proper operational control
  • Supervise and maintain the accuracy of process control variables ensuring levels remain within desired ranges and/or safe limits
  • Monitor alarms to ensure all equipment is functioning properly
  • Respond to alarms promptly through corrective action and/or proper communication to field operators and/or operations management
  • Document daily operational actions, equipment performance, and downtime events
  • Promote high attention to quality control
  • Oversee routine process troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of oil and gas plant operations
  • Operate within regulations of Process Safety Management (PSM) and environment permit requirements
  • Communicate in a prompt and effective manner
  • Work closely with field operations to ensure all units remain in proper working condition
  • Submit work orders for malfunctioning equipment, automation issues, and/or process control issues

Requirements


  • Good understanding of gas and/or amine plant performance (thermal, physical, operational, & HSE) including factors that impact performance.
  • Able to recognize atypical conditions and trends in critical equipment parameters.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills necessary to develop relationships with the customer, other Plant Support personnel, and Plant Operations personnel which promote an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.
  • Strong working knowledge of rotating components such as pumps, motors, steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, and field instrumentation.
  • Effective English communication and report writing skills required.
  • Must be proficient with various software programs and systems (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) as well as database use.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Perform in a team environment, as well as effectively communicate with others.

Experience:


  • Gas treating experience preferred
  • Experience with process controls, troubleshooting instrumentation and electrical issues, and/or PLC programming preferred
  • Preferred candidates should ideally possess two (2) to ten (10) years' experience in O&G upstream and/or midstream in a position such as field operator, control room operator, lead operator, maintenance technician, etc.

Education Requirements:


  • High School Diploma
  • Desired: Associates degree of Applied Science from technical/vocational school, military service or equivalent, or Bachelor of Science, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • Comfortable working rotating shift schedule.
