Interius BioTherapeutics Is Seeking a Scientist/Sr. Scientist in Discovery

As a Scientist or Senior Scientist in our Discovery group you will develop and discuss experimental designs, conduct daily experiments independently and in collaboration with other members of the scientific team, and help enrich Interius’ scientific pipeline through bringing forward creative novel ideas and impeccable technical skill.

Responsibilities:
- Envision, plan, conduct, and document scientific research to advance company’s pipeline.
- Execute day-to-day research activities with focus on advancing viral vectors for targeted cell and gene therapy applications.
- Support discovery effort with expert understanding of the most current and innovative approaches in performing cell and gene therapy research.
- Design and perform ex vivo and in vivo cell therapy experiments, including evaluation of targeted cell delivery, cellular phenotyping, and efficacy assessments, to study the role of immune cells in tumor clearance and autoimmunity.
- Review literature, present results in team meetings and deliver presentations to both small and large groups.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Cell & Molecular Biology/Immunology/Virology/Molecular Genetics/Bioengineering or related fields (PhD preferred) with relevant gene therapy and bench research experience.
- Deep understanding of cell biology including mammalian cell and tissue culture with prior experience investigating cell signaling.
- Experience with chimeric antigen receptor design, characterization, and evaluation.
- Previously has conducted lentivirus production/purification and transfection/transduction assays.
- Experience with multicolor flow cytometry.
- Experience with molecular biology including vector and promoter design and characterization.
- Desire to learn in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- The candidate must be self-directed and independent, but also able to effectively collaborate with the entire Interius team to achieve group and company goals.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external and internal contacts.
- Excellent attention to detail, maintenance of records and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Vaccinated against SARS-CoV2 plus booster.
