Job Title: Senior Director of Sales Engineering


Overview:


The Senior Director of Sales Engineering is a leadership position within the sales organization, responsible for leading a team of sales engineer managers and ensuring the technical aspects of the sales process are effectively managed. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Revenue requires a blend of technical expertise, sales acumen, and strong leadership skills to drive success in the sales engineering function.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 2-4 sales engineer managers.
  • Partner closely with the sales leadership team to align sales engineering efforts with overall sales objectives and strategies.
  • Act as a technical advisor to the Metropolis sales team, providing guidance on product capabilities, solutions architecture, and technical aspects of the sales process. 
  • Assist in the qualification of sales opportunities by assessing technical fit and feasibility.
  • Engage directly with key customers to understand their technical requirements and challenges.
  • Collaborates with the Sales Enablement to create sales collateral that highlights value of Metropolis' product offerings.
  • Present technical solutions and demonstrations to prospective customers, showcasing the value of Metropolis' products or services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company's products or services, as well as the competitive landscape and industry trends.
  • Provide feedback to product management and engineering teams based on customer needs and market insights.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to influence the roadmap priorities based on customer feedback and sales insights.​
  • Identify areas for improvement in sales tools, resources, and methodologies, and work cross-functionally to implement enhancements.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administrative, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales engineering or technical sales roles, with demonstrated success in leading and managing teams.
  • Strong technical background, with proficiency in understanding and articulating complex technical concepts.​
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve results.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive change.

When you join Metropolis, you’ll join a team of world-class product leaders and engineers, building an ecosystem of technologies at the intersection of parking, mobility, and real estate. The anticipated base pay for this position is $190,000.00 to 235,000.00 annually. The actual base pay offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment.

Base pay is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more.#LI-DL1 #LI-H
