ENGINEERING MANAGER (PRODUCTION SUPPORT)
The Engineering Manager will lead our engineering team responsible for resolving bugs and critical issues that have been escalated by our client services team. We are seeking a strong leader that is capable of managing multiple competing priorities through organization and leadership. This individual will need to establish communication channels between our client services department and engineering teams in order to resolve product issues quickly and effectively. This is a hands-on role, in addition to providing technical leadership and guidance to the team they will be expected to write code as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and prioritize product production issues that have been escalated by client services team
- Provide guidance and leadership to other engineers on your team
- Participate in incident response procedures during critical issues and outages of the product
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for major incidents
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the engineering team and with members of the client services team
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 6 years experience in Information Technology (at least 3 of which include SaaS products)
- Proficient with common web programming languages, including Javascript, PHP, GraphQL
- Familiar with using client-side JavaScript frameworks (preferably AngularJS/Angular and React)
- Proficient knowledge of databases (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDb)
- Ability to prioritize their time based on the most important work first
- Comfort maintaining and debugging live production systems
- Proficiency with common software monitoring tooling (AWS CloudWatch, DataDog, etc.)
- Understanding of AWS or other cloud platforms
YOU MAY EVEN HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
- Ability to communicate well with others
- Familiar with project management tools such as JIRA
- Strict attention to detail under pressure
- Experience with Unit Testing ,Synthetic Testing / Smoke Testing
- Experience upgrading open source libraries and core languages like PHP, Node’s NPM, React and AngularJS
- Proven ability to work remotely with teams.
- Experience working with off-shore teams
- Release Management in a production setting across multiple departments
- Understanding of Javascript and or PHP debuggers and performance tuning.
