Overview of the Role:


The Product Manager role will be responsible for facilitating the market development process of pest and animal control consumer products, which is broadly defined as identifying, targeting, and satisfying profitable groups of consumers in assigned market categories.  

Specific Responsibilities:


  • Division Budget
  • Create/Drive Sales/Expense Budgets with Team Members
  • Create/Track/Approve all Marketing/Promo Opp.
  • Track/Drive/Report of Sales Opportunities vs. Budget
  • Brand Steward/Positioning
  • Direct and Manage Brand Look/Feel/Essence
  • Graphics
  • Communication
  • Product Content
  • Advertising/Promotions Across Channels of Trade
  • Point of Purchase and Plan-o-gram
  • Train and Direct Consumer Care/Product Reviews and Brand Content
  • Market Analysis
  • Category Trend Reports – Analysis with Recommendations
  • Competitive Retail/Channel Space Matrix – Gap Assessment Opportunity
  • New Product Development Opportunities
  • Annual Sku Rationalization Assessment, Impact and Execution plan
  • White Space Analysis
  • Direct with Consumer Analytics team – Consumer insight survey, focus group, etc.
  • Recommend Possible Acquisition
  • Work with Sales to deliver relevant, impactful presentations that drive product placement with positive financial impact
  • New Product
  • Work in Tandem with the New Products CDM, Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain to determine value ads, new products, packaging and financial metrics to meet BU Goals
  • Direct/champion execution of minor new product projects, as required, to support business needs
  • Work with COF and Sales to execute on time delivery of product placement with accounts.
  • Financials
  • Financial Margin Analysis - GMROI
  • Oversea Pricing Controls
  • Account Pricing Parity
  • Line Review Financial Prep with Sales
  • Interface with Sales in Product Offering, Programs/Pricing Needed to Drive Sales
  • Assess Service Center Financials/Returns
  • Work with Supply Chain in regard to inventory turns, inventory age and purchases
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS:


  • Degree in business management or marketing preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in marketing or sales/sales management. (must be skilled in marketing strategy and tactics validated through education and/or experience)
  • Skilled at financial analysis as it applies to profitability of assigned products and categories or opportunity finding.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Front Page.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, process, and analytical skills.
  • Flexible team player – able to both lead and follow.
  • Quick learner, independent thinker.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
