Job Summary:
As a member of our UX Platform team, you will be creating outsized leverage for the company through empowering other engineering teams to deliver robust user experiences rapidly with high quality across web and native mobile platforms. You will be setting an example of excellence in your approach to software engineering and in the quality of code and systems you deliver. Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate design concepts into reusable and maintainable code.
Develop and maintain a scalable and extensible component library using React Native, TypeScript, Tamagui, NX, and Expo, or tools like these that enable using the same source code for both web and native mobile applications, while adapting for unique capabilities each platform enables.
Create and manage design system documentation, including design tokens and guidelines, to ensure consistency and usability across products.
Write immaculate, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to established coding standards and design principles. Collaborate with the engineering team to uphold consistent coding practices. Pinpoint areas for enhancement, and propose and implement modern solutions that amplify scalability, maintainability, and overall system performance. Ensure solutions harmonize with our existing systems.
Lead efforts to optimize performance and accessibility of user interfaces, ensuring a seamless experience for all users across web and native applications, taking into consideration factors such as SEO impact, deep linking, etc.
Drive efforts to optimize build and deployment tooling for user interfaces delivered for web and native applications..
Drive best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation within the UX platform team.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on building user interfaces and component libraries.
Extensive experience with React Native and TypeScript, as well as familiarity with Tamagui, NX, and Expo, and similar tools.
Proven track record of creating and maintaining design system component libraries, utilizing design tokens, and implementing software platforms or libraries intended for external use.
Proven track record of communicating clearly how to deliver capabilities and functionality through written documentation and verbal communication.
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Proven experience working effectively in a remote or distributed team.
Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is not required but beneficial. Extensive relevant experience as a Senior Software Engineer in reputable technology companies preferred.
